I play the lotto every week and always have done, so as you can imagine I have had a few wins mostly a tenna here a tenna there, my biggest win has never actually been that big.

PLAY NOW

About two years ago i was sat in front of the TV awaiting my millions as usual, only to yet again be not a lot better of than I was before, never the less as the draw came to an end it filled me with so much adrenalin and excitement that I have to wonder how I’d ever cope with actually hitting the jackpot! I am certain that an ambulance would be required.

I had only managed to scoop around £65 but that was fabulous for me as it was a few weeks before Christmas, and as you can imagine there was no better time to come into a bit of extra cash. With that win a headed for the supermarket and bought all we needed for a yummy Christmas dinner and some naughty but nice chocolates, gateaux and biscuits too.

I love playing the lotto and will continue to do so, you never know I could require that ambulance one day.

It’s said that the easiest way to win the Lotto is to get an email address and if you’ve received one of these spoof ‘you’ve won the lottery’ emails you’ll know exactly what I mean.

PLAY NOW

The emails are all different but pretty generic, they state that you have won a lottery from around the world and you need to get in touch to claim your multi million prize. What they don’t tell you is when you get in touch with them that they will want an ‘administration’ fee to release your winnings to you.

Now its estimated that lottery scammers only need one person in every five million recipients to fall for the scam to make a profit so don’t be that one.

If you receive an email saying you have won a lottery just stop and think. Did you play in that lottery? The answer is probably no, you can’t possibly win a competition or lottery you haven’t even entered, there are ways to play lotteries from around the world but they are through reputable organisations who wouldn’t send you emails full of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.

Use your common sense, although it’s tempting when you are being offered life changing amounts of money to respond and maybe even send cash off, don’t do it.

And as my mother always said to me, ‘if something seems too good to be true, it probably is’ truer words have never been spoken, take heed.

When you buy your Lotto ticket you may have noticed a seven digit number across the ticket entitled ‘Dream number’ this is an extra game that you can choose to play along with your chosen numbers for the Lotto draw or on its own.

PLAY NOW

To play the dream number it will cost you one pound, simply tick the box on the ticket to play and select whether it is a Wednesday or a Saturday that you’d like to play.

These days the Lotto not longer consists of one draw, there a selection of games to be played on a Saturday or Wednesday night, you will have noticed among them is ‘Dream number’. Seven numbers will roll out of the machine one after the other, the aim of the game is to match those seven digits with the seven on your ticket, but they have to be in the order they came out to win.

I always choose to play dream number as the way I see it is I have as good a chance as any of winning, and of course it’s an extra bit of excitement during my Lotto flutter.

Before you start playing the UK National Lottery it’s worth just making sure you are playing correctly and making the most of your National Lottery tickets.

For Lotto CLICK HERE

National Lottery draws are held in the UK every Wednesday and Saturday evening, tickets must be purchased before the draw begins with the cut-off time approximately 30 minutes before the draw time.
Play slips are provided free by the National Lottery organisation but to play you must purchase your filled in ticket at £1 each.

To play the National Lottery you must choose six numbers from a possible 49, mark off your vertically numbers on your play slip and take your ticket to the kiosk, to win the National Lottery jackpot you must match all six numbers drawn with the six numbers on your National Lottery ticket. An alternative way of playing is to select the lucky dip option on your play slip the National Lottery terminal will then choose six numbers at random and these will be your numbers for the draw.

Most importantly keep your ticket safe. If you win you will need to verify your ticket and you must be able to tell the National Lottery headquarters where your ticket was purchased.
It all sounds so easy, just match six numbers to be a Lotto millionaire. Good luck trying!
